OAKLEY OUT OF AMBLER/FULLER

Oakley's hopes of reaching, for the 9th successive year, the final stages of the Ambler/Fuller trophy were dashed, last night at Loddon Vale by Basingstoke Spitfires. The team of Hugh Aherne, Val Ryan, John Ryan and Malcolm Grime did not play poorly but the opposing team. particularly skip Steve Harris, was in excellent form and Oakley lost 29-5 meaning they are eliminated from the competition having won two out of four matches.
