A CLOSE FINAL IN CLUB FOURS

Wednesday morning began sunny and warm for the Club's Drawn Fours competition. This event sees all entrants classified as lead, two, three or skip with a draw to decide who plays with whom - the hope being that all teams will be of similar strength so that everyone has a chance to win. The teams were divided into three leagues with the three league winners and the best runners up playing in the semi finals. The semi winners were Marion Bringes, Jonathan Scott, Peter Pearce and Vice President Ric Newson who competed against Richard Baxell, Colin Godfrey, President Norman Frost and Val Ryan. It was a close final and, as in 2023, when Ric lost by one shot, it went to the wire and again Ric suffered a one shot defeat as his team went down to Val Ryan's team that included the President.
