Over the weekend, at Yateley, Diane Yarrall, Wendy Aherne, Ruth Bown and Janie Vickers comfortably beat Fleet United bo be crowned the North Hants Women's Bowling Association's Fours champions. II was a special day for Diane and Wendy as it was their first title, outside of the Club, and for Ruth, who was substituting for Sue Dixon, it rolled back the years and brought back memories. In 1981 Rurh, then Paice not Bown, was a member of the very first Oakley four to lift the NHWBA title.

For Laura Butler, there was less joy. Playing in her sixth North Hants final she had to settle for the runner up spot in the Dolly Anstey Two Bowl Singles, a title that has eluded Oakley players since 1987.

Well done to all who participated in the Finals on an, at times, rainy weekend and thanks to the supporters who braved the weather.
