CONGRATULATIONS ALICE LOVETT - BOWLS HAMPSHIRE SINGLES CHAMPION

This afternoon at Banister Park, Oakley's Alice Lovett took on Janet Ballard of Waterside in the Final of the County Ladies Singles looking to achieve the rare distinction of being, at the same time, the outdoor and indoor champion. The early stages were cagey with scores being mainly singles and although Alice established a 6-1 lead Janet had the better of the next few ends reducing the lead to 9-7. The next end was critical, with Alice picking up a maximum 4 shots, From there on, the momentum was with Alice who ran out the winner by 21 shots to 9. Well done Alice and the best of luck when you represent Hampshire at the National Finals in Leamington.
