ALICE REACHES COUNTY SINGLES QUARTER FINAL

Tonight at Howard Park, Alice Lovett played, in the Northern Area Final of the County Singles looking to reach the quarter finals of the event for the second time in her short career. Against her was the very experienced Allyson Flint, of Cove, who as long ago as 1984 was the Nationlal semi finalist and last lifted the title in 2007. On what seemed to be a tricky rink, it was Allyson who had slightly the better of the early stages leading 7-5 but Alice hauled herself back into the match and scoring steadily Alice ran out a 21-12 winner to send her Oakley supporters home happy. Alice will play in the Last Eights at Banister Park, Southampton on 19 July at 6 pm.
